ThemeTheNet
Welcome
The site/theme is currently still under development, as you might have noticed (especially if you use IE), there are still some wrinkles that need ironing out. In the mean time I would like to welcome you back to yet another opening of ThemeThe.Net. Haven't had a lot of time the past few months to put a lot of work into the site.. but hopefully you can expect a lot themes coming out soon, with the summer I should have more than enough time to work on themes

On another note, I'd be glad to port any themes out there as long as they aren't coded like rubbish , All you have to do is sign up and ask in the forums.

Also I haven't announced anywhere about the reopening I'll do that when I have a few new ports/themes and when this theme is finished... but I'm wondering how many people will arrive here without the announcement.. so if you do read this leave a message

Hello ThemeTheNetters Just giving a little update on what's going on. Lately I have read/skimmed through quite a few ebooks , mainly on php 6 and I've become a lot wiser since then, at least I hope so, still a lot of learning to do : )

I guess that's also what I like about web development, you never stop learning and there's always something that will interest you. It's also time to put all of this knowledge to the test by making an e107 plugin of some sort, so if you have any suggestions about a plugin you would like to see let me know!

I'm also thinking about making a few default e107 theming files and some tutorials which should help people who are interested in theming make those very first steps... problem is, a lot of the tutorials wouldn't be accessible for a lot of people because the current theme doesn't support Internet Explorer.

I actually thought all of the IE problems would be over If I would just give up support on IE6... but.... there is IE7 waiting for me... and after that it's IE8... it will never end hehe

Perhaps I'll make a simple theme which should support all browsers, or hack something together that will allow different browsers to use different themes.. and then just send IE users to Jayya

I will also be porting at least one theme per day, when the site gets more active again I will have a poll up so users can vote on what theme they would like to have ported to e107... but for now everyone can request a port.. If I would be consistent about this I could have 365 ports in a year

I Also added syntaxhighlighter to this theme, so hopefully I should add some code snippets now and then that I find useful for both me and you..

To do list:
Port at least one theme per day - on request.
Read a lot more ebooks ; )
Blog?
Add e107 theming files and tutorials.
Make an IE friendly theme?
Learn some more jQuery
Stop procrastinating
Stop making unfinished themes.. :P
Make an e107 Admin theme

hola - Old Newspost

Quite a time since I have written a newspost, for the ones who haven't seen my forumpost at e107.org I just added a free theme for you guys to download. Have a look here.

Anyway since 0.8 is the next big thing with e107 it is time to have a look at what's going on, time to download the newest cvs version and test it....it's something I've also never done before. Having spent quite some time on the e107 IRC chatbox I know a thing or two about some new features. But what interests me most is the use of a javascript framework throughout e107. I already use mootools in most of my themes and I know that there are a lot of interesting things you can do with a javascript framework, but on the one hand I do have to say that I would have rather seen mootools in 0.8 instead of prototype, perhaps being a bit of a xenophobe since I've never actually used prototype. But I guess prototype deserves a chance as well
I'll write up a newspost of what I think of it soon.

In the meantime If you'd like to contribute to this site with content you are very welcome to.
Think you can write a newspost? port a theme? Or anything else let me know!

Lately I have received quite a lot of positive feedback on my themes. And If I may say so, I do like them myself as well But I have to say that a lot of my themes wouldn't be what they are without all of the extra effects and help. Although I have credited all of this in my themes, writing a newspost for them wouldn't do any harm either

So here goes:

#1

First of all ThemeTheNet wouldn´t be here if it wasn´t for the hosting by Fusednetwork So if you ever need quality hosting you should definitely consider stopping by at their site, they also host e107.org.

#2

The e107 IRC chatbox: you can find the e107 chatbox on the freenode network in #e107. Or short 'irc://irc.freenode.net/e107'.
Whenever I get stuck with something I always seem to find an answer in here. Great support and a great place to idle :P.

#3

mootools Most of the effects you see on my site and themes are made with the mootools javascript framework. Adding just a tiny bit of javascript here and there in your theme can make a huge difference.

#4

php-help.ro: Although this site is quite new I have already used two of the custom mootools javascript they have written, nothing but good quality scripts and good support from these guys. So if you are using mootools head over and have a look, they also have a wide variety of other coding tutorials going on.

famfamfam Many of the icons you see on my site are from famfamfam they work with both dark and lite themes and are a must for every webdesigner.

Hi Gefy, I'm amazed that you posted so soon Yep I had to shut the site down for the past 2 months because I didn't have any time at all to work on it and I also had exams, which I passed :P

I have a bit of catching up to do with the latest webdevelopments and then I'll get back to theming

Thanks for stopping by

Oh, Not in particular - just doing the odd theme every so often, hehe - I take your point on e107, but I just like how it works and quite like the small size of the community - very personal But you are an amazing coder so might be an idea to do a few cms things

My third chatpost in a row, I'm on a roll :P

So do you have any plans for the future/sitewise etc?

Also as much as I 'hate' to say it. I think the e107 community is a bit small or quiet at the moment. Perhaps it's time to have themes also coded for other popular cms's...probably going to start out with some simple wordpress blogging themes but I'll make sure they will also be compatible with e107

Nothing in particular Kinda wainting for 0.8 lol.. Thing is that I just don't have enough time to do one complete overhaul of the site. It's something I've been planning on doing since 2008 now...

Got a week of vacation coming up soon though, which I'm going to spend on the site
